    Brussels, 22 May 2013 – At the meeting of the heads of state and government of the European Union held today in Brussels, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip emphasised the need to develop local energy sources and to continue with the diversification of the energy supply in Europe.

    Energy was one of the key issues at today’s meeting of the European Council. The European Commission had prepared an analysis of energy-related problems in the European Union for the meeting, which focused primarily on the issues of the Union’s competitiveness and high energy prices.
