Stenbock House, 26 October 2014 – Due to his official duties, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas will not be departing for foreign visits to Klaipėda and Stockholm on 27 October and will be substituted by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Entrepreneurship, Anne Sulling.

Anne Sulling will participate in the arrival ceremony of the floating LNG terminal in Klaipėda. The floating liquefied natural gas or LNG terminal Independence that calls in Klaipėda is the first large-scale LNG terminal in the whole of the Baltic region. The ship, manufactured by Norwegian and South-Korean companies, can accommodate 170,000 cubic metres of liquefied natural gas. It is equipped with devices that allow to convert liquid natural gas to gaseous state in the volume of 11 million cubic metres per day. From the viewpoint of energy security, the floating terminal also serves as a particularly important project for Estonia, as Lithuania is prepared to share their alternative energy source with other Baltic States.

In the afternoon, Minister Anne Sulling will depart for Stockholm to attend the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) Summit taking place on the same day. The meeting of the Heads of Government of Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania will cover topics such as the economic situation in Europe, transatlantic relations, and developments related to Ukraine.

Minister of Foreign Trade and Entrepreneurship Sulling will be accompanied by Villu Känd (+372 52 75 424; villu.kand@riigikantselei.ee) from Government Communication Unit.
