President of the European Council Donald Tusk to visit Estonia

Stenbock House, 11 August 2016 – Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas will meet with the President of the European Council Donald Tusk on 9 September in Tallinn with the aim to discuss Bratislava Summit and preparations for the Presidency of Estonia.
According to Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas, the main topics of the meeting with Donald Tusk will focus on the security and economy of the European Union that will also be discussed during the extraordinary Bratislava Summit held on 16 September.
 

“The President of the European Council has previously stated that the aim in Bratislava is to set off processes that would strengthen the internal unity of the European Union as well as to hold discussions on the most urgent issues – the challenges laying ahead of the safety, security and economy of the European Union,” said Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas. “In addition, we will discuss the Presidency of Estonia and the United Kingdom leaving the European Union.”


Donal Tusk will arrive to Estonia for a few hours on 9 September during which the President will also give a press conference to Estonian journalists.
