Stenbock House, 14 December 2016 – Prime Minister Jüri Ratas departed for working visit to Brussels today. Ratas is due to meet with Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council president Donald Tusk to discuss topics of the forthcoming European Council meeting and work plans for 2017. Prime Minister Ratas will also meet European Commission Vice-President Andrus Ansip.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Ratas will participate in a European Council meeting. During the meeting, EU heads of state and government will discuss migration, security and defence cooperation, Europe’s economic and social development, and EU external relations. The Heads of State and Government of 27 EU Member States will meet separately to decide on the structure of the UK's exit negotiations.
The Prime Minister will return to Estonia on Friday.
