Milan, 6 October 2015 - During his visit to EXPO in Milan today, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas said that the Estonian pavilion has been a very good platform to introduce Estonian design, culture, businesses and our IT success story to the world. So far, our pavilion has been among the most visited pavilions at the EXPO.

“The Estonian EXPO team has done excellent work and I would like to thank everybody who has been involved in and contributed to the project,” said Rõivas in Milan. According to the Prime Minister, Estonia’s trade fair participation can already be regarded as a success, although it is more than three weeks until the official closure of EXPO.

Estonia’s interactive pavilion seeks to introduce Estonia as an innovative country with favourable living and business environments, as well as an attractive tourist destination thanks to its diverse nature and tourism sights.

The Prime Minister also made an introductory speech at the IT-conference Estonia - Where stuff happens first. In his speech, the Prime Minister focused on the pillars of Estonia’s digital success story: the availability and security of public services, political and social readiness to introduce a new, digital identity and a secure data exchange environment.

Besides Estonia’s pavilion, the Prime Minister visited the pavilions of Lithuania, Japan, United Arab Emirates and Italy. As of the end of September, Estonia’s pavilion at Milan Expo had attracted more than 2.36 million visits - up to 20,000 visitors per day.
