Prime Minister Rõivas will participate in the meeting of the European Council

Stenbock House, 17 December 2015 – Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas will participate in the meeting of the European Council today. The meeting takes place in Brussels from 17–18 December.


The agenda for the meeting of the European Council includes discussions on migration issues, the fight against terrorism, the future of economic and monetary union, the completion of the single market, the development of the energy union, and the plans for a referendum concerning the United Kingdom’s EU membership.

 
Before the meeting, Prime Minister Rõivas will also meet with Vice President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič and they will discuss the energy projects of the Baltic Sea region, including the topics concerning Balticconnector to be established between Estonia and Finland and a new electrical connection to be established between Estonia and Latvia.


The Prime Minister will return to Estonia on Friday evening.
