Stenbock house, 6 September – During the meeting with the members of the American Chamber of Commerce at Tallinn, Prime Minister Jüri Ratas stated that Estonia must utilize all opportunities in order to create closer trade relations with the United States of America.
During the meeting with entrepreneurs, Ratas said that relations between Estonia and the United States of America have never been better. Prime Minister said that Estonia wishes to continue cooperation with the United States of America in all areas, including the fight against terrorism and cyber threats.
He also stated that Estonia seeks closer trade relations. “Although the United States of America are the tenth among Estonia’s export partners, Estonian businesses have the capacity to considerably increase their export to the United States of America,” stated Ratas.
The Prime Minister also presented the entrepreneurs with an overview of his recent working visit to the United States of America accompanied by the business delegation. The objective of last week’s visit was to help technology companies make new business contacts.
During the meeting, Ratas also talked about Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Estonia’s 100th anniversary, but also touched the topics of globalization and the need to reduce social inequalities. He confirmed that the government’s priority is inclusive growth that reaches all Estonian people.
