Stenbock House, 29 July 2021 – At today’s cabinet meeting, the Government decided to grant special permission for a concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of restoration of the Estonian independence ‘Free Estonia!’ at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds on 20 August, as it is an event of overriding public and national interest. The concert will be organised as a fully monitored event, which means that only those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, have had COVID-19 or have tested negative for COVID-19 are allowed to participate in the event.

The concert is expected to attract up to 10,000 spectators and 650 performers and organisers. A total of 5,000 spectators will receive invitations and another 5,000 will have the chance to redeem a free ticket from ticket offices. Spectators will be dispersed by sector at the concert and the COVID-19 certificate will be checked at the entrance. It is also possible to take a quick test on site.

The Health Board has provided its assessment and recommendations for the risk plan of the concert and, taking these into account, the current risk assessment allows the organisation of the event. The Government Office together with the event organiser will ensure compliance with the instructions of the Health Board.
