Tallinn, Stenbock House, January 13, 2005 The government decided in the session held this afternoon to extend the mission of the Estonian rescue team in the Indonesian crisis region by fifteen days. The Estonian rescue team has 15 members including ten doctors, two staff officers and three logistics experts. The Government set the budget for the mission extension at EEK 1.13 million. The objective of the mission is to ensure on-site operation of an Estonian field hospital for two weeks.
The Government decided to send the fifteen members of the Estonian rescue team to the Indonesian crisis area on December 29. The objective of extending the mission is to assist in alleviating the consequences of the disaster responding to the request for assistance made to the European Union by
Indonesia, and by the capability and readiness of the Estonian rescue team.
