Today, on 16 February, Prime Minister Kallas will attend a dinner in Paris at the invitation of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, with the leaders of European and African countries and European Union institutions who are most supportive of Sahel to discuss the security situation there.
Tomorrow, on the morning of 17 February, Prime Minister Kaja Kallas will meet with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov in Brussels to discuss the security situation in Europe and bilateral co-operation. The sixth EU-AU summit will start in Brussels tomorrow afternoon, where participants will discuss closer co-operation, the health crisis caused by COVID-19, climate issues, security, and economic co-operation. The summit will take place in the format of roundtables – Estonia, together with Denmark and Egypt, will chair a roundtable focusing on climate change, energy issues, digital connectivity, and transport. There will be a dinner for the heads of state and government of the European Union and the African Union on Thursday evening.
The summit will continue on Friday, 18 February, with a focus on education, culture, agriculture, sustainable development, and health. Prime Minister Kallas will participate in a roundtable focusing on the development of healthcare systems and issues related to vaccines and vaccinations.
After the summit, the prime minister will travel to Germany for the Munich Security Conference. She will meet the heads of state and government, as well as entrepreneurs and opinion leaders. Prime Minister Kallas will take the main stage of the conference with a discussion focusing on the unity and future of the European Union, together with the Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander de Croo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain José Manuel Albares, and Member of the German Parliament Friedrich Merz. In addition, the prime minister will participate in various discussions on democracy, security, and digital and cyber issues.
