Stenbock House, 27 October 2015 - Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas is travelling to Reykjavik tonight to participate in a meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Nordic and Baltic States (NB8) and the Northern Future Forum.
Various issues pertaining to international relations will be discussed at the meeting of Nordic and Baltic Prime Ministers, ranging from regional safety to EU-related topics and economic development. As always, each Prime Minister will hold a presentation on a topic agreed beforehand, followed by a discussion between the ministers. The theme of Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas's presentation this year is cybersafety.
This year, the Northern Future Forum focuses on creating simpler, smarter and more innovative public services and growth through creative industries. The Northern Future Forum is a venue for the Prime Ministers of the Nordic and Baltic States and the UK as well as experts from all participating countries to discuss opportunities for jointly increasing the quality of public services and enhancing the region's competitiveness.
According to Prime Minister Rõivas, the Northern Future Forum is a place where ideas are born that will shape the New North. "Experts, entrepreneurs and heads of Governments participate in the discussions and brainstorming sessions. This is a great formula for creating smarter public services in the future," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister will return to Estonia on Friday.
