“Members of the Estonian Defence Forces have participated in missions together with their allies for almost three decades and have gained invaluable experience,” said Prime Minister Michal. “Their participation also confirms that Estonia is actively contributing to international security.”
“Your willingness to ensure security and stability both at home and abroad is an important source of reassurance for our country,” said the Prime Minister, recognising those who participated in military operations. “The Estonian Defence Forces have received nothing but praise for their professionalism and high level. Thanks to you, we have an impeccable reputation among our allies because you give your all, you are reliable and efficient.”
In his speech, the Prime Minister also thanked the families of the members of the Defence Forces, whose support is indispensable. “No battle is fought without reliable support,” Michal added.
More than a hundred members of the Defence Forces attended the reception, most of whom have served in the US-led military operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq. In addition, Estonia contributes to UN, NATO and EU operations in Lebanon, Iraq, Mozambique, the Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the Middle East.
